University of Montana in Missoula
The University of Montana is home to approximately 14,000 students in a variety of Undergraduate and Graduate programs ranging from social sciences, performing arts, and forestry to pharmacy, law and business. U of M is known for its balance of academic excellence and outdoor recreation and play. The University of Montana was the first public university in Montana, founded in 1893. It sits at the base of Mount Sentinel. The campus boasts 60-plus buildings with Main Hall and the Oval being the main focus.
The University of Montana is home to the Montana Grizzlies. Washington-Grizzly football stadium seats over 25,000 of the most enthusiastic football fans in the nation. Washington-Grizzly Stadium has a reputation for being one of the loudest stadiums in the FCS football division. The Adams Center is home to the Lady Griz and Grizzly basketball teams. It is also a prime venue for many of the larger concerts and shows that come to Missoula.
