We are close to Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge which is the largest wildlife refuge in Minnesota.  Snowmobiling, ice fishing, camping, hunting, golfing, bird watching, fishing, and tubing are many of the outdoor activities in which visitors can enjoy.  The Pennington County Fair, held every July, has northwest Minnesota's largest bull riding event.

Thief River Falls offers a variety of specialty shops and popular chain stores at which to shop. Our city also has an array of restaurants to satisfy everyone's taste. We offer fine dining, fast food, Chinese, and Mexican.

Arctic Cat Inc., located in Thief River Falls, home of the Arctic Cat snowmobiles and ATV's offers free plant tours Monday-Friday at 1pm during full production season. 

The new Ralph Engelstad Arena, the premiere hockey arena in Northwestern Minnesota is near completion and opened its doors to the public November 2003.
